Also the object behind makes him look more dominant and more controlling due to the lighting, as a sense of a powerful man in this specific scene.
High key lighting:
High key lighting appears more natural compared to most of the lighting techniques. It is more clearer and brighter than the natural high key lighting, this is mainly used in thriller to enhance the innocence or the horror on the characters facial expressions to get a better view of it. within the illumination as this scene appears very bright and tense with a few shadows to contrast her facial expression to frame her face.
Natural lighting:
Natural lighting has been added as its what you expect to see in most thriller films in rare occasions. this outdoor image is an example of natural lighting, as i can infer that the colors contrast what you should expect to see as the sunset light is hitting the misty waters as this creates a very subtle yellow and green affect throughout the image.
Colour:
Colour is a massive technique used within thriller films occasionally it would black and white or even red. this is one of the most obvious colors to show danger, blood or even alertness in some very exciting thriller films as for example Scream. IN this thriller red was used in many occasions to represent the color 'Red' for the blood of the victims the murderer would terminate.Another example would be a dark hallway as the audience would wonder what’s going on as anything could pop up to the scene at any second.
Furthermore, both of these colours are conventional to thrillers for these reasons.
